Culture Writer
RELEVANT, the leading platform reaching Christian twenty- and thirtysomethings, is looking for an idea-driven writer with strong journalism and multimedia experience. The position is primarily responsible for conceiving and writing website content—producing multiple items per day—as well as conducting interviews and creating content for our audio and video platforms.
The writer we’re looking for is passionate about their faith and has great taste in music/entertainment. They have their finger on the pulse of what’s next. They’re witty. And they’re plugged in to what God is doing in this generation.
This is a highly collaborative position that works with the managing editor and publisher to ideate and create compelling content that will connect with our audience. The ideal candidate is our target reader. They love writing, and are exceptional at it, but are equally comfortable conducting interviews. They know what makes RELEVANT unique, and have vision and creativity to help take the brand content to the next level.
Skills Required
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years professional writing experience (with published clips).
Knowledge of RELEVANT's editorial mission and voice is vital.
Experience with writing engaging headlines and AP style.
Ability to prep and conduct thoughtful, engaging interviews with a wide range of subjects.
Deep knowledge of—and passion for—emerging/breaking music and entertainment. Ability to curate successful playlists and weekly recommendations.
On-camera or on-mic experience is a huge plus. A big part of the job will be creating audio and video content, as well as writing articles.
