Graphic Designer
RELEVANT is looking for a Graphic Designer who lives and breathes visual culture—someone who understands that great design isn’t just aesthetic, it’s communication. Our ideal designer tracks trends, knows what makes a graphic thumb-stopping, understands how typography sets a tone and can translate RELEVANT’s distinctive intersection of faith, culture and creativity into visuals that feel fresh, modern and unmistakably us.
This role shapes the look and feel of RELEVANT daily. You’ll create graphics for articles and features, social content, campaigns, podcasts, marketing assets, and both digital and print publications. You’ll collaborate with editorial and creative leadership to keep the brand evolving—high impact, on trend and instantly recognizable.

Responsibilities
Brand + Visual Identity
Interpret and evolve RELEVANT’s visual identity across all platforms
Create bold, modern, culture-forward designs that resonate with a young digital audience
Collaborate with the Creative Director to maintain cohesion while pushing the brand forward
Digital & Social Content Design
Design daily graphics for RELEVANT articles, features and news pieces
Create social assets for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Threads—including carousel layouts, story slides, post templates and static podcast promo art
Keep a pulse on design trends (type treatments, textures, grids, color treatments, motion-lite elements) and apply them appropriately
Produce platform-native designs optimized for engagement
Campaign & Marketing Design
Design assets for internal campaigns, seasonal pushes, editorial packages and special projects
Create digital ads and marketing graphics that reflect a clean, modern editorial tone
Publication Design
Contribute to layout and design for RELEVANT’s quarterly digital magazine
Assist in the buildout of RELEVANT’s annual print edition (full-page layouts, typography systems, photo treatments)
Creative Collaboration
Work closely with editorial, social, and video teams to develop cohesive visual storytelling
Partner with the Social Video Producer on motion-lite graphic elements
Iterate based on performance insights and what resonates with the audience
Qualifications
Strong portfolio demonstrating modern, trend-aware design (digital + social emphasis)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Figma or other layout tools a plus
Strong command of typography, color theory, layout systems and design hierarchy
Ability to design for vertical social formats and understand platform behaviors
Comfort collaborating with creative leadership and iterating as needed
Experience designing for editorial, culture or media brands is a plus—but passion for the space is essential
Bonus: basic motion graphics instincts or interest in learning

$25–$28 per hour, based on experience
20 hours per week
Fully remote; weekday availability required for daily output
