RELEVANT magazine is seeking a marketing-savvy advertising account manager to work as a key member of our sales team. This important role will work to develop relationships with advertising clients, understand their marketing needs, consult on their marketing strategies to effectively reach our audience, and sell advertising opportunities on RELEVANT’s platforms that maximize the client's impact and RELEVANT’s revenue.

Founded in 2000, RELEVANT has experienced extraordinary audience growth in the last couple of years, and now consistently reaches 5-10 million people a month through our magazine and digital platforms. Not unexpectedly, most of that growth has come through our web, multimedia and social media platforms, and our revenue model has drastically changed too. But we're just scratching the surface of what's now possible.

The advertising account manager position is a great opportunity for a goal-driven self-starter who wants to be part of a big season of growth. Our ideal candidate has strong sales experience and a proven track record of creating revenue growth. This job requires the individual to have a thorough knowledge of advertising strategy, media and client interaction. The candidate should be up to date with print, multimedia and web marketing trends. The candidate should be well-rounded with experience in different fields and have good communication, presentation and writing skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

— Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising or related field of study.

— Previous experience in sales, marketing agency, media, customer service or other related fields.

Advertising Sales Director

The ideal candidate is a media and marketing expert that has great insight into RELEVANT's unique audience, mission and market. The position will focus on expanding our advertising revenue growth momentum, and help spot the right opportunities and strategies to increase partner effectiveness and take revenue to the next level. 

Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of marketing leadership and growth. They are a goal-driven self-starter with a thorough knowledge of strategy, budgeting and media. The candidate should be up to date with print, multimedia, social media, web and native advertising trends. The candidate should be well-rounded with good communication, presentation, leadership and writing skills.

Marketing agency experience or digital media sales is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Grow our advertising and partnership revenue by leading effective, innovative strategies in a changing marketplace

  • Lead client partnerships, consulting on best marketing strategies and ideas for them to impact the RELEVANT audience 

  • Oversee and train the ad sales team
  • Establish sales territories, quotas, and goals for the sales team
  • Analyze sales statistics to identify areas of improvement
  • Track results and trends regularly for business forecasting
  • Report on team and individual performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, advertising, media or related field of study

  • Several years of sales, agency or marketing experience with quantifiable success

Bookkeeper

RELEVANT, an award-winning magazine and media company reaching Christian twenty- and thirtysomethings, is currently seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our in-house team. We are looking for an individual who is experienced in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and budgeting/forecasting. Duties include entering invoices, cash management, creating and maintaining files, posting cash, paying bills and keeping cashflow projections and budget documents updated. Position is part-time, approximately 10-15 hours per week. Schedule is flexible. Only qualified applicants need apply.

 Day-to-day Job Requirements

  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Research accounts payable and accounts receivable issues and pursue past due accounts as needed
  • Keep cashflow projections and budget documents updated
  • Prepare bank, credit card reconciliations monthly
  • Process credit card payments as needed
  • Administrative tasks, filing, etc.
  • Human Resources regarding employee benefits and compliance
  • Liaise with bank as needed
  • Make bank deposits

Other Duties

  • Work with our CPA firm to ensure tax filings happen accurately and on time
  • Work with our benefits management company to ensure proper operation of our 401(k) program (adding/removing employees, etc.)
  • Prepare various financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements

Experience Requirements

  • 1+ years of QuickBooks experience is a must
  • 1+ years of bookkeeping experience is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft or Apple office suite: Word/Pages, Excel/Numbers is required
  • Ability to meet deadlines and self-manage time
  • Ability to follow through until tasks are completed
  • Ability to communicate well via phone and email
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, clients and professionals (i.e. bankers, lawyers, etc.).
  • Since this position will be interfacing with our advertisers and partners, knowledge of RELEVANT's products, mission and market is a must.

Social Media Manager

The social media MANAGER will:

  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand strategy
  • Ideate and execute video and audio content that furthers brand mission 
  • Work with the creative, editorial and marketing teams to create and deploy social media content — writing posts, designing images, shooting videos
  • Utilize social media best practices to achieve brand and business objectives
  • Provide ongoing insight into the latest social media, video and audio tactics/technologies, and formulate strategies for adoption when necessary
  • Conduct ongoing best practices and new technology research and analysis to capitalize on new industry trends and keep social media and multimedia content efforts up-to-date and effective

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal who understands the interaction between strategy, content and audience management
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience: Account management or strategy experience in social and digital media

  • Experience creating audio or video content
  • Must be already plugged into social media landscape, aware of trends and be able to continually monitor for emerging platforms and react quickly
  • Photography and videography experience is a HUGE plus
