RELEVANT, the leading content platform reaching Christian twenty- and thirty-somethings, is expanding, and we're looking to add a versatile and creative marketing manager to our team to play a key role in growing the RELEVANT brand.
The marketing manager will create and lead strategies, partnerships and marketing campaigns to significantly broaden RELEVANT's reach, connecting our brand and content with the right audiences. We currently reach more than 7 million readers each month, but we're working on significant next-era changes to our platforms, content strategies and product plans to spur audience growth to reach more than 10 million monthly. The marketing manager's focus will be making sure that growth is realized—working with the editorial, analytics, social media and design teams to create effective strategies, measure, adapt and achieve those results.
The marketing manager will develop marketing campaigns to ensure the buzz-worthy launch of new platforms, shows and products, and then use data to adapt those plans and make sure goals are met or exceeded.
Social media has been a huge driver of our growth and reach over the last few years, and our marketing manager needs to have a passion and expertise in social media strategy to ensure its continued effectiveness and growth moving forward. Successful social media tactics change continually, and the marketing manager will be the in-house expert keeping their finger on the pulse and pushing us to adapt and evolve. This position will manage our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram presences. Being able to write witty, smart, effective social media content in the RELEVANT voice is a huge part of the job.
This position will answer to our Director of Business Development and work collaboratively with our project managers, designers and writers to create, deploy, measure and adapt campaigns. Having the ability to think outside the box and dream big on an indie budget is key.

We want someone who is on trend, is always looking to what's next and doesn't want to stay still. Someone who is a visionary, but also a great communicator and planner. You need to be passionate about marketing, social media and creating buzz.

- Develop strategic cross-channel promotions to drive magazine subscriptions, audience growth and successfully launch new products.
Manage RELEVANT's social media presence and strategies to significantly grow followers and engagement.
Lead the customer acquisition strategies and oversee the ongoing growth of our magazine customer base. This includes partnerships and promotions, ad campaigns to promote issue releases and seasonal sales, and creating and implementing the global strategy to get our millions of online readers into a funnel of becoming customers. Experience working with online automated/trigger marketing and database development is important, because that will be the majority of where our focus is invested. (We're an indie media company—it's all about organic growth strategies.)
Lead the marketing strategies for all new products—podcasts, videos and new brand extensions.
Manage the marketing calendar strategy, programming and execution.
Ensure that marketing materials adhere to the design aesthetic and unique voice of RELEVANT, in addition to aligning with overall business growth strategy.
Utilize analytics to segment consumer messages based on content consumption and consumer behaviors.
Develop key partnerships to expand RELEVANT audience.
Develop, track and communicate key performance metrics to management, and exhibit the ability to pivot quickly to ensure KPIs are met.
- Work with the creative, editorial and marketing teams to create and deploy social media content — writing posts, designing images, shooting videos, etc.
- Provide ongoing insight into the latest social media, video and audio tactics/technologies, and formulate strategies for adoption when necessary.
Minimum of two years of experience in consumer marketing. (Experience at a media, digital or subscription-based company with a robust customer acquisition and retention track record is preferred.)
Experience creating effective advertising campaigns, with provable results.
A creative self-starter with a test-and-learn mind set with an ability to rapidly iterate on learnings.
An ability to understand the special DNA that is a RELEVANT reader, and to nurture that relationship and uniqueness.
- A strong analytical mindset with an understanding of data backed consumer segmentation, ROI and LTV analysis.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Hands-on experience with acquisition and retention marketing.
A strong partner who can work successfully with product and technology teams, focusing on priorities and optimizations to drive revenue and reader experience.
