Social Media Manager / Content Producer
RELEVANT, the leading content platform reaching Christian twenty- and thirty-somethings, is looking for a versatile social media expert to join our team. This unique dual-role position is fast-moving, creative, strategic and analytical. It will be responsible for working with the editorial team to post all of RELEVANT’s daily web content on various digital platforms, and then effectively deploy that content through social media channels.
Social Media Manager Role
The social media manager is responsible for the global strategy and daily content creation of RELEVANT’s social platforms—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Google+ and YouTube—and leading all efforts to grow those audiences and expand effectiveness and innovate within each, all while staying true to the brand’s unique voice and focus. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media and has extensive experience creating compelling content. The position will keep its finger on the pulse of social media trends, continually measure the effectiveness of RELEVANT’s social media strategies and proactively adapting them for highest impact.
The position will not only maintain and grow our current social media channels, but will also launch and grow a unique RELEVANT presence on other large platforms as they emerge—keeping the brand effectively on-trend. It is a hands-on creative position creating content, as well as a strategic and analytical one.
Grow RELEVANT’s content reach by developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand strategy.
Work with the creative, editorial and marketing teams to create and deploy social media content — writing posts, choosing/shooting images, shooting videos, etc.
Utilize social media best practices to achieve brand and business objectives.
Provide ongoing insight into the latest social media tactics/technologies, and formulate strategies for adoption when necessary.
Conduct ongoing best practices and new technology research and analysis to capitalize on new industry trends and keep social media efforts up-to-date and effective.
Identify KPI’s for ongoing and campaign initiatives—analyze findings based on benchmark goals and apply learnings for future initiatives.
Facilitates and ensures content is published in a timely and excellent manner, and ensuring it is effectively deployed to accomplish goals.
CONTENT PRODUCER ROLE
The other aspect of the job is working with the design and editorial teams to post content to our digital platforms throughout the day. You will manage the content posting schedule, using analytics to ensure that features and slices are deployed at the most effective times throughout the day. You will have an eye for design and detail, making sure that the post formatting looks great on all platforms and all creative assets are loaded correctly.
Format and load in all daily web feature content, editing for optimal presentation on the various digital platforms (RELEVANTmagazine.com, Facebook Instant Articles, Google Amp and Apple News).
Add story graphics, author bios, pull quotes, videos (if applicable), photos and other assets and links to each article, making sure all content is laid out well and correctly formatted.
Do the above, plus write the episode copy and add extras, for the podcast each week.
Do the above for bi-monthly magazine content, making sure all the details and assets are included and the reading experience is visually compelling and top-caliber. Load the digital flipper and other issue content assets, ensuring the issue TOC page and online content presentation is complete and looks great.
Find all assets and links to enhance iPad and web content (for example, adding a music video to the Neighborhood article or link to a book in Recommends).
Gather all feedback for magazine Feedback page (watching and grabbing Twitter, Facebook, comments and email for publishable content). Ensure readers are replied to by the customer experience team, if applicable.
Proactively look for opportunities to improve editorial processes and efficiencies. Provide feedback to the project manager and editors about analytics results and departmental operations, planning and efficiency. See the big picture goals and identify ways we can adopt best practices.
Be fresh eyes on content quality. Make sure headline voice, content tone and overall editorial quality is consistent and effective across platforms, from newsletters to web to print and social media. While producing and posting the content, be the quality control.
